blair

Prime Minister Tony Blair

"I would like to congratulate the Arrhythmia Alliance and their partner organisations on their third Arrhythmia Awareness Week. This year the week will culminate in the first Heart Rhythm Congress fir which I would also like to add my congratultions and best wishes.

Chapter 8 of the Coronary Heart Disease National Framework, covering arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death, launched last year, was drawn up by over 60 key stakeholders from a variety of organisations and backgrounds. It is important that all those involved continue to own this document and play a role in its delivery.

The Arrhythmia Alliance has done an enormous amount already to raise awareness of the issues and the importance of delivering their policy and will, I am sure, continue to be a major force in the developemnt of the treatment, care and support for patients requiring these services.
I look forward to following with interest the organisation's continuing success"

Winterton

Rosie Winterton, MP

"I am delighted to be able to send my support for the 2006 Arrhythmia Awareness Week and the first national UK Heart Rhythm Congress. The Department of Health has enjoyed a close working relationship with Arrhythmia Alliance and its partner organisations in the development and delivery of policies aimed at improving the quality of and access to arrhythmia serives, and providing support for those who have sadly lost a loved one as a result of sudden cardiac death. I am in no doubt that the 2006 Arrhythmia Awareness Week and UK Heart Rhythm Congress will play important roles in raising awarenss of the key iissues in this area. They present an excellent opportunity to celebrate the very real improvements that have already been made since the launch of the national policy document last year."

Dennis Skinner MP

"I would to congratulate all those dedicated to making the public aware of the problems associated with cardiac arrhythmia. The vital work being done by Arrhythmia Alliance will help people throughout the country coping with these conditions. Best wishes for a successful week."
