Q: ‘I am booked to have an ablation in two days time, but I have started my period. Will this complicate the procedure?’ A: No, it should not make any difference. If the patient is having a left sided procedure anticoagulants will be used. It is usually advised that a patient’s period may be a bit heavier than usual.
